..:Weekend away!:..

via
I always feel like I leave school in June, after closing down my classroom thinking the summer ahead is going to be endless. Then, I sit here at the start of August and wonder where in the world it went and what the heck I could have possibly done with all my free time!?

Our summer has been extra crazy this year due to selling a house, moving back in with my parents, heading to Hilton Head for a few weeks, hubs studying most days, house hunting, etc. I honestly can't even believe its less than 12 days till we have to go back to school! AHH!

That being said, hubs and I wanted to get away before it was back to work for me. So, we planned a last minute trip up to Michigan for the weekend and will be here till Tuesday! But, so far this weekend we have relaxed and enjoyed ourselves greatly! Today, we went to Frankenmuth, Michigan to visit the Christmas store. It was rather large but I was not overall impressed with what the store had to offer. I had very high expectations of a huge elf factory, but it just reminded me of an ornament store. Although, we still managed to have a good time with hubs sister and her fiancé!

Today, we are headed to scope out the Bay City area! Hoping to find a nice lake beach we can sit out on and some neat attractions to see!

Then, Tuesday we will head on home, do some laundry and head out to a bed and breakfast for 2 nights in NY on Wednesday! It will be a great week to send off summer vacation!

Next week, back to the classroom to get ready for all my little kinder babies :)

As always, linking up to tell you all about my weekend!

..:blogging on saturday:..

Is blogging on Saturday, a thing? I am not sure the rules of the blogging world! Ha!

Anyway, the hubs and I are headed up to the great state of Michigan today! You know those horribly cheeseyyyy Michigan commercials
?! They got us, for sure it was the Kim Kardashian one, too... #justkidding

We are celebrating him being done with his test and planned a few fun trips to end summer on! I am so excited for our getaway to the Bay City area... anyone ever been there? Any must see spots?

Its great, hubs is the planner, I am the fly by the seat kinda gal. We have NO PLANS for this whole trip and I am giddy with excitement. Hubs, not so much, he keeps wanting to plan, plan, plan :)

I can't wait to link up on Monday and tell you about our long weekend!!

..:weekend recap:..

This weekend was a lot of fun. This Monday is also just as great. #thingsteacherssayinthesummeronly

As you have gathered by now, hubs is studying for a really big test and anytime we can get away for an evening, we are really excited about it. So while I think this was a great weekend, it may not compare to your kickass one...

Friday morning we had the inspection on our *dare I say it* OUR house! Everything went really well and we are still moving along quickly to close on it! We also decided with said news, we would have a quick night out that evening sort of a celebration. We decided window furniture shopping was obviously a must and pretending you have all the money in the world is a lot more fun than shopping on any sort of budget. After we were done playing lifestyle of the rich and famous, we grabbed a quick meal at the cheesecake factory... YUM!

Saturday, I was invited to go wedding dress shopping with hubs sister... guess what guys? She found THE one! I was more giddy for this one than I was for my own! It was wonderful :) We went out around MI for lunch and to bum around a little before heading home to Ohio. -sidenote, this is not her dress, but she thought it was a good one to show off ;)

Sunday, my mom and I went to go pick up an area rug hubs and I had purchased on friday and on the way, we hit up Trader Joes. Mom was a little excited and may or may not have bought 4 six-packs of blueberry beer and more than a handful of  the cheapest bottles of wine. #classylady

But, on a serious note... has anyone tried to TJ's gluten free version of Oreos?! OH.MY.WORD. they are possibly the best things I have had since.. well Oreos. I am obsessed and just a lil dunk in some almond milk and you can't even tell a difference! I am super pumped about this one!

Hope you all had a great weekend, too!

I am linking up with Rachael for a weekend wrap-up!
